Rob Scuderi, frankly.

During the intermission of Game 3, Round 2, Penguins at Rangers, they did a story about Long Island native Rob Scuderi. He had this to say:

"As a kid it was always a big rivalry and something I looked forward to as a fan for the Islanders to beat the Rangers. But now at this point you don't like anybody but the Penguins. So that's all I'm focused on, that's all I'm looking to accomplish, to put [the Rangers] down 3-0 tonight."
I agree with you fully Rob...you played great and followed through with your focus and we are now up 3-0 in the series, so let's stay focused.

On another note, this kid says some things in his nomination speech for valedictorian...good speaker, but just a punk kid...the only reason he is okay in my book??? Look at his T-Shirt...bout it bout it...

The Roots listen to curtO, bad assness.

I'd like to say I had a conversation with The Legendary Roots Crew last night, but really I think they just listened to me and clowned me in the background...but it's all good...and it's all "bad assness."

The new CD from The Roots is called Rising Down, and was released today, April 29, 2008. I did a preorder from OkayPlayer.com a few weeks ago for their new CD and a Rising Down T-Shirt. Thanks to the USPS the package came in on Monday, a day before the release. But even better was I had a 40 minute drive North right after work so I brought that CD with me. So as I'm driving home last night, surprise to me, The Roots are on Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 40 'Hip Hop Nation' doing live performances, talking, and taking calls. So after a couple wack callers talkin' bout they started listening to them in 2005, I decided to give them a call since I've got a decade of listening on these fans...after being on hold for a bit, they picked up the call from curtO in Pittsburgh, PA. Let's listen in...

Edit: It should be working now...woot! Thanks very much to my buddy Barry over at theCnik.com for helping me figure this shit (I can say shit right?) out...

Thank you Julie_Gong, and THE ROOTS

I regularly read another blog, A Blog of a Good Time by Julie_Gong. Today she had some information that may just contribute to a heart attack today...I'm really excited to begin the day because I took a half day at work to go meet up with the knuckleheads and friends to tailgate and then go to the Pens game.

Back in 1994-95 2 buddys (Tom and Boo-X) drove from Clarion University to IUP and met up with me to go to a concert by The Roots. Up to that point I heard maybe 1 or 2 songs by them, and had never been to a concert before. But after the concert was over I popped my concert cherry and became a life long fan, buying every CD of theirs since then.

So I was exctatic to find out on Julie_Gong's blog that The Roots will be doing a free and open to the public concert at CMU next Thursday, April 17th, 2008. Am I going to miss it? What do you think...Who wants to meet me there?

Free recipe books

I've been to Las Vegas twice. The first time I was there I ate at a place called Motown Cafe, that I think is closed now. But they had a Sweet Potato French Fry that was sooooo freakin good. So I got to thinking, if I liked those so much, what else made from Sweet Potatos would be good. Here's what I found for some free recipe books from Spoofee.com, yay for NCSweetPotatoes.com:

The North Carolina SweetPotato Commission, Inc. is a non-profit corporation, which was chartered on June 30, 1961 by six sweet potato farmers. For more than forty years North Carolina farmers have sought to increase sweet potato consumption by collectively funding promotional programs, providing timely and relevant information to themselves as well as consumers, funding research and development projects and encouraging the use of good seed stock and horticultural practices among producers.

Visit the NC Sweet Potato Page and request one of several different recipe and cook book brochures.

curtO is getting around

So I read something funny and sent it to a blog I regularly read and have link in the sidebar, theburghblog.com. The writer of the blog is a anonymous 30-something female that lives in the East past the Waterfront and works downtown by riding the bus. She hates pigeons (yes I took that photo above, and I'll tell you why I met the devil pigeon this past weekend) and plays a game when Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl uses the phrase, "Move forward." Overall she is great.

So she quoted me in a story I sent her about a dude that stole 2 boxes of Immodium AD and a container of baby powder...here...

If that wasn't enough, someone over at the Pittsburgh Post Gazette decided to republish her comment, and mine...look #5...then down to the very bottom of this PPG page...were they that hard up for news?

Jam for the week and a big ole sea cucumber

This is a song for my Sister who has been in China for 4 weeks...thankfully this is her last week there and she can get back to regular food. No more Fish Lip Soup or Sea Cucumber...I doubt she really knows what she is eating half the time...Thankfully with IM we are able to talk at least once a day.

Busta on the streets

Got a sneak preview of a song by Busta Rhymes via his mailing list. Low quality of Funkmaster Flex playing it in NY with his comments every 2 minutes. Link. If only you could cut out some of the Flex yelling and the explosions every 2 seconds, it would be easier to hear it. cO.

A blog to come

This evening I will be doing a blog covering the following topics:

1. Misunderstanding, but though my Pops was trying to run me out of business...
2. Pens win the Atlantic Division with the win last night against Philly...that was their final regular season home game...
3. Since I was at that game, I'll post some of the up close and personal pics I have with Scott Hartnell's nose.
4. Help me find this kid story.

Maybe more...not sure...maybe nothing, I'm tired from yesterday...

Crackin my stuff up.

Since I was going out, Tuesday night I DVR'ed MTV's Rob and Big. I watched it on Wednesday at lunch and it cracked me up so bad. I can't remember laughing that hard... If you get a chance to watch it, please let me know if you have the same humor as me...

In the meantime, I YouTubed Rob and Big and came up with a couple video's to catch you up on who they are...A lil info for those that don't know, Rob Dyrdek is a professional skateboarder that has made his millions doing skateboard tricks, Big Black is his bodyguard. Rob was from Ohio, and has a skatepark there in his name. He has a contract with DC and just like Nike or Reebok, he gets paid big time for the sponsorship...crazy world we live in...so here are the videos:
Interview with Rob Dyrdek...
Get to know them, from the Jimmy Kimmel Show...

Interview with Big Black...

How real is he? Well, take a day in the life of Rob Dyrdek...not sure where BigBlack is...

Finally, they were on the 96.1 Morning Show in Pittsburgh...

If anyone was really that concerned, they are down with PETA too...
